              Mel.. Summer 57

Mel went to UCLA, where he didn't make it as an engineer. But he did meet his wife, Linda, at a frat party there and, after a stint at Compton JC, returned to UCLA to finally graduate from the Business School in W63. His continuing involvement in track and field ended with ribbons in the halfmile and long jump in a 1959 intermural track meet there.  He worked for a Big 8 accounting firm for 9 years, earning his CPA certificate in 1965, then served as a financial officer with private real estate developers/manager for 20 years. Mel and his wife (a school teacher) are retired, still live in the same house in Burbank they bought in '65, although the house is a bit different. They have two sons, a high school teacher/coach and a medical doctor, and one grandson. They both are volunteers at a local elementary school (Mel is a math aide), enjoy their Palm Desert condo on weekends, and travel whenever and where ever. Since he gave up acting after starring as Fatima in the SG Hi Snow White play, Mel has discovered singing late in life, currently singing bass for a senior gospel quartet.
