Carl Green, S'51, died Sept. 26, 02. He was born Dec. 17, 1932. He was a friend of mine and married to Mary A. Green. Carl was in the service from 1951 to 1953, receiving an honorable discharge. Most of his adult work experience was with different fire departments and he retired as Fire Chief of Roseville, CA, where he had worked for 19 years. He last lived in Reno, NV.

A former resident and Fire Chief of Roseville passed away peacefully on September 26, 2002 with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Mary Ann Green; children, Rae Ann Hall and her husband Ron, son John Green and his wife Kelly, son Jim Green and his wife Leslie, daughter Pam Green-Saldivar, daughter Cindy McClure and her husband Kelly; 18 grandchildren, Dara and Gary Helmer, Dave and Stephanie Hall, Ron & Jamie Hall, Karla Marie Hall, Nick Green, Marianne Green, Sam & Jennifer Green, Jesse Green, April Green, Jamila Tahir, Derek Ogden, Dustin Ogden, Blake McClure and Tanner McClure; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Green and his wife Judy; and his sister Betty DiGeorgio and her husband Stef. Carl had a zest for life; he was energetic, driven, and compassionate and always had a keen sense of humor. He was loved and will be missed very much by his family and friends. Carl had a distinguished career in the Fire Service, spanning 31 years beginning in April of 1956 in Buena Park, California as a Firefighter and ending his career after 19 years as the Fire Chief of Roseville, California in 1987. He was dedicated to his Department and the community in which he served. Carl was a past member of the Shriner's, Host Lions Club, Original member of the Buljan Cooking Crew, Honorary member of the Sons of Italy and a prior member of the Elk's Club in Delano, CA. Friends and Family are invited to attend a Memorial Service being held to honor his life on October 11, 2002 at 11am at Roseville Cemetery, 421 Berry Street, Roseville, CA 95678.
